FOLLOW ME - You might be surprised to know that this phrase is not original to the internet community. Reality is that it predates modern communication, all the way back to when people talked face to face. In most situations today we are motivated by gaining followers. The number of hits or likes matters to our daily sense of worth. Following has become a measure of success or value or status. But what are we following?  The quality exchanged for quantity. Don't get me wrong I love reading about folks lives and seeing people comment on what I write but it is merely out of social curiosity that I read. I am not sure that I would commit to being a follower. I made the decision to "follow" someone else along time ago.  Just like the men in chapter 4 of Matthew, the decision to follow meant committing to go in a different direction.
