In Week 8 of the Sermon Series, Pastor Doug encourages us to keep Jesus at the center of our lives and not promote ourselves to God’s position. By being with God, and not attempting to be like Him, we find peace and contentment. God constantly thinks of us and cares for us, and because of this, we have the privilege to encourage others through their struggles.
Goliath Must Fall
We often consider anger to be a sin. In reality, it can very quickly lead to sin if it is not appropriately dealt with. We need to be careful that we do not sin while we are angry, and that we deal with anger quickly and forgive others.
Pastor Doug teaches us the pitfalls that can come from relying on comfort. Although it can be difficult to let God control our plans, we are called to keep God’s plan at the front of our minds as we make our plans around His will.
This week at church there was a technical problem and the podcast could not be recorded. As in, I never technically pressed record. So apologies for that. Since we can’t have Doug’s thoughts, we can at least hear Lou Giglio’s thoughts about Fear, the third chapter in his book Goliath Must Fall.
This recording is from Passion City Church in Atlanta, GA. I’ve also embedded the video from the sermon if you’d like to watch. Thanks for understanding. ~Tyler.
As we begin a new series, Pastor Doug takes and introductory look into Goliath, the Israelite army, and David. How do we react to the problems we face on a daily basis? Do we allow them to dictate our lives? Do we allow God to fight our battles ahead of us?
